TAKING ACTION IN SITU: Ornament und Klang - Tagun zum 80. Geburtstag von Herwarth Röttgen @ Universität Stuttgart

20 Jahre lang lehrte er am Institut für Kunstgeschichte an der Universität, bis er 1997 emeritierte. Damit war Prof. Dr. Herwarth Röttgen aber nicht von der Bildfläche zu fegen. Irgendwie ist und bleibt er präsent, ist auch als Emeritus nicht wegzudenken. Nun wartet eine weitere Gelegenheit, ihn zu ehren: Zu seinem 80. Geburtstag findet am kommenden Donnerstag und Freitag, den 1. und 2. Dezember 2011, an der Universität Stuttgart eine Tagung zum Thema "Ornament und Klang" statt. He has been teaching at the Institute for History of Arts at the University of Stuttgart for 20 years until he retired in 1997. Yet, Prof. Dr. Herwarth Röttgen could not be swept away by doing so. Somehow he used to be - and still he is - present, the scene cannot be imagined without him even as a professor emeritus. Now, a new occasion of honouring him is given to the University of Stuttgart: On the next Thursday and Friday, December 2nd and 3rd 2011, a conference titled "Ornament und Klang" (ornament and sound) takes place for Herwarth Röttgen's 80th birthday at the University of Stuttgart.
